Look Back/Look Forward Process
I am thrilled to let you know that in addition to my on-going design, facilitation and consulting work with BMO Bank of Montreal, I will also be joining the 889 Yonge Team as the resident Certified Leadership coach. This was one of my 2010 goals and I am excited to see it come to fruition. As I work with individuals and organizations to define goals and visions and provide support in taking actions towards making these come to fruition. I am always humbled and happy when the process I take my clients through also has the same powerful impact on my life and business too.
At this time of year, as we all know, it is so important to take stock of the year we have left behind and consider what you want to create and who you want to be moving forward. For me, 2010 was a year of hard-work and growth which has led to some exceptional professional opportunities. I celebrated this success by treating myself to a 5-day silent Meditation retreat (to help set me up for the New Year) and I will also recognize my achievements by a weekend getaway to NYC with some good friends. Upon reflection of 2010, I realized some of the unintentional impact of this success was that some of my personal goals were not achieved and some of my relationships did not get the attention they deserved. 2011 for me will be about finding more balance between my personal and professional goals by scheduling my Yoga classes and runs in advance just as I would schedule a business appointment. It actually means setting less goals (‘doing’ less) and creating more time to ‘be’, to rest and reflect on what life has to offer in the present moment. I will be spending more quality time with people I love and less time on my computer and running from one commitment to the next. I am very grateful for my dear friends, family and good health and will spend more time in 2011 being present to this abundance.
If you haven’t already, please ‘gift’ yourself by going through the “Look Back/Look Forward Process” as you take some time to reflect on 2010 and dream “into” 2011 and answer the following questions:
2010 - Looking back:
1. What are your highlights, breakthroughs, and big aha’s from this year? How will you celebrate these?
2. What are your valleys and disappointments from this year? Which of these do you need to let go of?
3. What are you most grateful for? Write a gratitude list expressing what you are most grateful for in your life.
2011 - Looking forward:
1. Where/how do you want to stretch yourself in the coming year?
2. What specific achievements and accomplishments do you want to experience?
3. How will you celebrate yourself in this New Year?
I look forward to seeing you on the mat at 889 Yonge and I invite you to explore your personal and professional goals in greater detail in the 4-week, Healthy Living Program; Empowered Living which begins Monday evening’s on January 17th.
Make it a great year!
